16:30 DISTURBING THE PEACE 87mins
Directors: Stephen Apkon & Andrew Young USA/ISRAEL 2016
some subtitles

Disturbing The Peace is a story of the potential unleashed when we stop participating in a story that no longer serves us and act to create new possibilities. We see former enemy combatants – Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters – who have joined together to challenge the status quo and say “enough”. We follow their transformational journeys from soldiers committed to armed battle to peace activists, leading to the creation of Combatants for Peace.

While based in the Middle East, Disturbing The Peace evokes universal themes relevant to us all and inspires us to become active participants in the creation of our world.

“…Let us live in peace and dignity, two peoples on this land.”

Jamel , former Palestinian fighter

“It is indispensible for a fighting system to deny the humanity of the other side, otherwise how can you possibly kill somebody?…”

Avner, former IDF soldier
